My teaching approach focuses on student assets as well as student learning needs. I use student learning assets as prior knowledge to help support new learning.
A typical lesson will focus on student prior knowledge to build bridges into concepts that are new. Areas of focus include improving literacy by encouraging grade-level reading and writing prompts.
What will set me apart from other tutors is my 5+ years of prior teaching experience at the middle school and high school levels. I also hold my B.A. in English Education and my single subject teaching credential.
