About Claire
I am an English tutor, just back from teaching TEFL in China. I have been teaching for the past 15 months. My classes are anything between 1 and 15 students, aged 3 to 15 years old. My students study English in coordination with what they are learning at school. With older students we concentrate on drafting essays and preparing towards examinations. Building confidence is key to the good results that they achieve.

My teaching style is relaxed as I like students to be able to step away from pressure, which allows for better production. We will start with a target at the beginning of the lesson, so we can assess what our needs are and how to achieve a goal by the end of our time. I have a hands-off approach, allowing students to come to their own conclusions with gentle guidance. Building confidence is very important, especially when it comes to exam prep, I like to focus on helping students to feel comfortable in building knowledge that will support them in this stage.
