About Kate
Hi there!
My name's Kate, and I'm available this academic year (including the summer holidays) to tutor anyone in need of an extra boost with their English Literature / Language studies. I'm incredibly passionate and well-versed in the subject, acutely aware of the national curriculum and how to link your one-to-one study with your classroom learning in a focused (and hopefully fun) manner, naturally at ease with young people and, most importantly, dedicated to the development of my students. I would also be keen to assist within academic institutions as well as home visits.
MY QUALIFICATIONS
- Distinction in Poetry (MA) from the University of East Anglia
- 1st Class Honours in English Lit with Creative Writing (BA) from UEA
- A* in English / Theatre and A in Film Studies at A Level
- A*s in English Lit, Language, Drama and Music at GCSE
MY EXPERIENCE
-Two year's experience as lead teacher of History and Science at The Complete Works Independent school
- A year's work at Sarah Bonnell School as an English TA and teacher of the Lit Programme
- Hands on experience and training with Complex Needs / SEN students
(I am equipped to tutor students with autism, ADHD, Down's Syndrome and other learning requirements)
- Commitment to Safeguarding and Child Protection Policies
- Dedicated to London and Norwich's literature scene; I am actively involved with the writing community and will try to incorporate my own creative experience into the teaching of the subject.
- My collection of poetry was published by Knives Forks and Spoons press in 2015 and I have been widely published since
