About Jamie
I spent several years as a part-time tutor for the tutoring office at my local community college while I was working on my degrees, I had a student who felt that I helped them so much she paid me directly when she went on to a nearby four-year school where I helped her finish her Bachelor's degree even though I only had my Associate's degree at the time (this was the late 1990s).
I now have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. I also have 23 years of on-the-job programming experience using a wide variety of tools and languages. I have a reputation at my workplace for being the person who can solve any problem. But I also have a reputation for being kind, patient, helpful, respectful, and a team player. I am part of a team that embraces diversity and I work well with anyone.

As a tutor I first like to get to know the person a little so I can relate things to them in ways they'll understand best. I'm patient, kind, and I love to help people. I spent several years tutoring at local colleges as a side job and have helped a wide variety of people learn their subjects.
A typical lesson plan would start with any questions you have about the previous lesson, then I would explain the current topic, get some feedback on what things are still unclear. Then we'd go over those parts again and I would demonstrate a simple example or relate the information to something else I know you already know so the new information makes more sense.
I can tutor beginner/intermediate/advanced students in any programming language or programming topic.
