As a 20y+ teacher and graduate with three degrees, I value the importance of education and the massive difference it can make to people's lives. I love learning and convey this to my students - witnessing their adoption of a lifelong hunger for knowledge is phenomenal! I have endless patience and don't hold grudges. I customise my teaching according to students' strengths, needs and gaps in knowledge by using what I've learned as a classroom teacher; I combine this with the insights I've gleaned from my 1500 tutoring hours. I accelerate students' learning by carefully crafting and delivering lessons which challenge and motivate.
Students and I can do activities of logic and reasoning together to grow their skillsets, and a good number of interactive educative games (because learning can be more firmly embedded when having fun). I regularly pop in mini fluency drives to practise and retain knowledge. Lessons range from 15-minute boosters to 2-hour study modules, and I cater for learners from Reception to KS3.
Together my students and I build up their resilience that they can wear like a coat of armour to deal with the exciting things that lie ahead in life. I use their interests and abilities to build up an arsenal of strengths. Everyone has their own talents - let's discover what yours are!
