About Amirul
I am an academic staff at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), specialising in Qur’anic Recitation, Tajwīd and Islamic studies. With 5 years of teaching experience across school, university and adult learners, I bring both traditional training and modern teaching methods.
During my own studies, I trained under experts in Qur’anic recitation, which shaped my passion for helping others perfect pronunciation, articulation and understanding of tajwīd. My teaching style is friendly, structured and focused on real improvement — suitable for beginners, returning learners, and those preparing for competitions or assessments
I also teach History, Ethics and General Knowledge for students who need support in those subjects.

Learning Qur’anic recitation requires listening, imitating, and receiving correction from a trained teacher. In my lessons, I will:
-Listen to your recitation carefully
-Identify patterns of mistakes (makhraj, sifat, long vowels, ghunnah, etc.
-Explain the exact tajwīd rule causing the mistake
-Demonstrate the correct tone, length and pronunciation
-Provide personalised notes based on your needs
-Share exceptions and special reading cases to deepen understanding
My teaching is suitable for:
-Beginners
-Adults returning to the Qur’an
-Students preparing for exams or tilawah/tajwid competitions
-Anyone who wants consistent improvement with proper guidance
By the end of each session, you will know exactly what to improve and how to practise it correctly
