About Ishwar Vishwanath
I am Ishwar Vishwanath Sharma BCyA. I'm currently 17 years old, and an avid student and practitioner of Yoga, and would love to help spread it to more people. I have practised yoga since the age of 3, and now have almost 6 years of experience as a teacher. I have a 200 hour certification in Hatha, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga Yoga, studied while in Mysore, my hometown. I have travelled around the world to over 20 countries to spread the message of yoga - I received the British Citizen Youth Award in 2018 in recognition, was the British Indian of the Year Young Achiever 2018. I also received the Points of Light award in 2021 from the prime minister Boris Johnson in recognition of leading daily online Yogasana classes for children during lockdown. But, my proudest achievement is seeing my students progress through my instruction, and through their dedication. I'm deeply interested in exploring more about the philosophy of Yoga, and have found that I've learnt more about yoga through teaching.

In person lessons at my home, available every weekend, that can be 1 hour, 90 minutes, or 2 hours, depending on the students' needs. Students must be motivated to practice on their own, but I can help guide them towards the right path through emphasis on building control, comfort, and stillness with one's body, breath, and mind, through practice. I start classes with breathing, warmups, Surya Namaskars (sun salutation flows), and then move onto the focus of the lesson (dictated by the students' aims), and ending with meditation and reflection. I insist on keeping classes in person - I can do group classes, and one-to-one for extra.
