About ZUZU
Hello! I'm a 27-year-old Los Angeles native with a passion for education and a deep understanding of the challenges that students with developmental needs, learning differences, and difficulties like ADD and ADHD may face. As a former teacher and camp counselor, I have developed a patient and personalized approach to tutoring that is tailored to each student's unique needs and learning style. As a visual learner myself, I know how important it is to engage with material beyond just reading from a book, which is why I specialize in creating fun and interactive ways for students to learn. I take pride in establishing a safe and supportive learning environment that inspires confidence and encourages growth.

As a tutor, my approach is tailored to each individual student's needs and learning style. I believe that understanding a student's strengths and weaknesses is key to creating an effective learning environment. My teaching method involves breaking down complex concepts into manageable pieces, using real-world examples to help students make connections and retain information. I encourage active participation and questions to ensure that students fully grasp the material.
A typical lesson plan would begin by reviewing the student's previous work and identifying any areas that need improvement. From there, we would work through problems together, with a focus on understanding the underlying concepts. I would provide additional resources, such as practice problems or videos, for the student to work on between sessions.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my background in creative professions, which allows me to approach problem-solving from a unique perspective. I believe that creativity and critical thinking are essential skills in any subject, and I strive to instill these qualities in my students. I also have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, and I understand the importance of creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
My lessons are geared towards middle school and high school students, with a focus on math, writing, and art. I can also assist with college-level courses in these subjects. I am flexible and can adapt to specific needs or preferences, whether it be test preparation, homework help, or general academic support.
