About Darragh
I am currently studying English and History at Dublin City University, with the goal of becoming a teacher in these subjects while continuing to pursue my work as a writer. I am the author of 'The Serpent’s Hiss' and serve as an editor of my college paper, which has strengthened my skills in writing, analysis, and clear communication.
Alongside my studies, I am actively involved in a number of university societies, which has helped me develop strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills. These experiences allow me to connect well with students and create a supportive, encouraging learning environment.
I am committed, reliable, and professional in my approach to tutoring. I understand the importance of building confidence as well as improving results, and I always aim to create lessons that are structured, engaging, and tailored to each student’s needs.

I offer grinds for both Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert students, tailoring each lesson to suit the student’s level, goals, and learning style. My approach is focused on building confidence, improving understanding, and developing strong exam technique.
For English, I help students with essay structure, critical thinking, and clear written expression, drawing on my experience. For History, I focus on simplifying key topics, strengthening essay-writing skills, and teaching students how to form clear, well-supported arguments.
Lessons are typically one hour long, with a mix of explanation, guided practice, and exam-focused work. I also provide notes, feedback, and tips on how to improve between sessions.
As a Dublin City University student studying English and History, I am up to date with the current curriculum and understand what examiners are looking for. My grinds are suitable for Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert students of all abilities who want to improve their results and feel more confident in both subjects.
