About Telisha
I have professional experience in roles focused on communication, mentoring and working with young people, from my legal and mentoring background. This experience has strongly influenced my approach to teaching. Through this work, I’ve developed the ability to engage students, build their confidence and support them in expressing their ideas clearly and thoughtfully.

I have worked as a teaching assistant, supporting classroom learning and helping students develop confidence and understanding. I have also hosted workshops and tutored students privately in English and History, tailoring lessons to individual learning styles and exam requirements.
In addition, I have experience mentoring young people, guiding them academically and personally, which has strengthened my ability to motivate, support, and inspire students to achieve their potential.
In my tutoring sessions, I help students break down complex topics, improve their essay writing, and develop strong analytical and critical thinking skills. I support students with exam preparation, source analysis and structuring effective written responses, tailoring each session to suit their individual needs.
I take a supportive, encouraging approach, creating a learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions, develop independence and find their academic voice.
My sessions are generally 60 minutes long, however, the length of my tutoring sessions is flexible subject to the needs of the student. I tutor KS4 up to A-Level Students.
