About Rojin
From an early age, I’ve been passionate about English and the power of language. Having achieved A*+ (8,9) in both English Literature and Language, alongside an A* in A Level English Literature, I know first-hand what it takes to reach the top grades, not just exam technique, but genuine curiosity and engagement with texts. My strong results in History (A) and Psychology (A) also give me a wider perspective on critical thinking, analysis, and the way ideas connect across subjects. I am now studying Education at University College London (UCL), after beginning my academic journey at King’s College London. Alongside my degree, I have spent the last 4 years teaching GCSE and A Level English, helping students move from average performance to 7–9/A*. My students also include undergraduates and master’s applicants who have gone on to secure places at world-class universities including Imperial, LSE, UCL and Oxbridge. What makes my teaching different is my holistic approach. I draw on philosophy and ideas about consciousness to shape a style of tutoring that doesn’t just train students for exams, but helps them develop focus, resilience, and passion for learning in a world where distractions like social media often make concentration difficult. I teach powerful study methods: active recall, spaced repetition, blurting, the Feynman technique, and more so that students leave my lessons with tools they can apply across all subjects. I know the AQA, Edexcel, and OCR exam boards inside out, and I specialise in preparing students for every type of exam question with clarity and confidence. My lessons are interactive, personalised, and designed to inspire, ensuring that students don’t just achieve outstanding results, but also come to enjoy the subject on a deeper level.

I believe every student is capable of excellence with the right guidance, mindset, and tools. Many students struggle with focus, confidence, or exam pressure, and my role is to turn those challenges into strengths through proven study techniques and tailored support. As a UCL student of Education, I’m passionate about instilling in my students not just the skills but also the genuine enthusiasm needed to achieve high grades. Top students don’t simply memorise or practise exam technique they develop a real love for the subject. And trust me, with my approach, you’ll find yourself becoming passionate too! I create a fun, interactive learning environment that goes beyond English, equipping students with lifelong skills for independent learning. I teach techniques such as the Pomodoro method for focus, Cornell note-taking for structured revision, active recall and spaced repetition for memory, blurting to test knowledge, the Feynman technique to simplify complex ideas, mind mapping for clarity, and interleaving to strengthen exam performance. These methods not only improve grades but also build resilience, confidence, and transferable study habits for subjects outside of English. With 4 years’ experience teaching GCSE and A Level English Literature and Language, I have a strong track record of helping students move from average performance to top grades (7–9/A*). My lessons are typically 1 hour, balancing clear explanation, model answers, interactive discussion, and consistent goal-setting. I am especially skilled at preparing students for each type of exam question, ensuring they know exactly how to approach and excel in every assessment.

My hourly rate reflects not only the lesson time itself but also the preparation, resources, and ongoing support I provide for each student. I carefully tailor materials to individual needs- whether that’s model essays, exam-style questions, structured revision plans, or feedback on written work. I also integrate proven study techniques (Pomodoro, active recall, Cornell note-taking, etc.) so students develop transferable skills they can use beyond English. For university applicants, my personal statement support includes step-by-step guidance, edits, and strategies for standing out to top institutions- a specialist service that requires in-depth preparation. All lessons are conducted online for convenience, but if in-person sessions are requested, I may include an additional cost to cover travel or booking a classroom/study space. By investing in my tutoring, students receive more than just teaching time- they gain personalised resources, long-term study strategies, and focused exam preparation that consistently helps students achieve grades 7–9/A*.
