About Tara
I have been teaching English for many years, both in group settings and individually. I am also a freelance blog writer, and have placed in several writing competitions over the years. All of that to say, I love the English language and it is my pleasure to teach it to others.

For young learners, I prefer short fill-in-the-blank answers with lots of visuals, lots of conversation, and practicing reading and writing with fun little anecdotes.
For older learners, the sky is the limit in terms of where the student's own creativity can take the class. Drawing on the real world, such as newspaper articles and YouTube videos, for content is a large part of my philosophy for teaching adult learners.

Tara is a fantastic tutor!! She helped me with calculus and trig and made them really easy to understand. The lessons are also really engaging, she can make any subject interesting!
Tara's firm foundation in theory, diverse range of musical experiences, and sensitive listening to her students combine to make her an excellent teacher. If you want to learn and to love making music while you do, Tara is a fantastic tutor.
Tara is not just whip-smart, but extremely creative. She is able to figure out where each person's roadblocks lie and tailor her teaching style accordingly. Tara will leave her mark on you not only as a student but as a person. You'll also have fun interacting with her. I recommend her highly.

Please note that $40 is the cost of a 45-minute lesson, with rates for longer/shorter negotiable. I find that 45 minutes is usually a good length of time.
