About Art
Hello! I'm Mr. Art, a Florida-certified teacher and a proud U.S. Army veteran. Teaching has been my calling for over 15 years, taking me from classrooms in Texas and Florida to schools in Bogotá and Cartagena, Colombia. I've had the privilege of working with students of all ages—from young learners in 2nd grade to adults preparing for professional certification exams. I'm also a musician; I play piano and sing, which keeps me creative and connected to the joy of learning. I believe that learning should be a positive, empowering experience, and I bring that belief into every lesson I teach.

I am a Florida-certified teacher with 15 years of experience in the U.S. and Colombia, and a U.S. Army veteran. I hold a Professional Teaching Certificate in Prekindergarten/Primary Education (Age 3–Grade 3) and have taught English, math, science, and global perspectives to students from 2nd grade through adults. I've also served as a Cambridge test examiner and worked with students who had no prior English experience, helping them build confidence and skills from the ground up.
My approach is simple: I meet each student where they are. I take time to learn what they enjoy, what they struggle with, and what motivates them. Then we work together at their pace—always on the right level, always with clear goals. I use practical, hands-on activities to make learning engaging and effective. I also give homework and review past topics to ensure steady progress.

I'm offering my first session at $21/hour as a way to make it easy for us to get started and see if we're a good fit. This is my way of extending goodwill—a lower-risk way for you to experience my teaching style and approach before making a longer-term commitment.
After our first session, my rate increases to reflect my qualifications: Florida Professional Teaching Certification, 15 years of classroom experience across two countries, and my background as a U.S. Army veteran. I believe in transparency, so I will always let you know in advance before any rate changes.
My goal is to provide you with high-quality, personalized lessons that are worth every dollar. I'm confident you'll find the value in my experience, and I look forward to helping you or your child succeed.
