About Codie
Hi, my name is Codie. Have you ever pondered big questions like How did the world begin? Or what causes suffering? Or is there even a God? Have you considered the impact history has on us today? The way the Romans introduced roads, the Greeks Democracy and Henry VIII with the Church of England. And, how does Geography fit into all of this? If the answer is yes, then I would love to meet you!
I am an experienced educator, having taught in Alternative provisions, private homes, secondary schools and colleges and sixth forms in the 10 years since I qualified as a teacher.
I love sharing and gathering knowledge. My favourite part of teaching is when I have discussions with students that go beyond the curriculum. This is really difficult to achieve in a traditional classroom environment, but has proven very popular with the many thousands of learners I have had the pleasure of teaching.
Of course, you may be studying GCSE's. Whether you aim for a grade 4 or a 9, I can assure you are in safe hands with me. I have supported students to improve their outcomes for a long time, to reach their potential - whatever that may be! I am an examiner, which means I can share this expertise with you to further boost your success. Most importantly, I am here for you - all of you!

About the lesson

Lessons are online, 1-1, tailored specifically to individual, unique learners. This is a truly person-centred service. Sessions often stretch beyond the expected, into the realms of Global Citizenship with splashes of the consideration of emotional wellbeing. As a qualified counsellor, I can support the 'whole' learner - mind, body and soul.
As a guide, sessions usually consist of:
Year 6 - KS3:
Includes a focus on a particular religion, or theme. For example, a theme of Peace would include an exploration of aspects of all 6 major religions.
GCSE:
These sessions depend on the Exam Board but follow the Curriculum with the added benefit of real-world application. Exam technique is included in every session as is Homework - both of which are marked comprehensively by myself (an experienced examiner)
Home education:
Perhaps the most holistic of all sessions. These lessons can incorporate other topics such as art, music and Global citizenship. Additional home learning can be provided if so desired.
Sessions are fluid, and are readily adapted to any given learner on any given day. Please message me should you have any questions about my services.
