About Jane
Hello! I'm a certified science teacher with eight years of classroom experience and a passion for helping students succeed. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Natural Science and a Master of Science in Biology, giving me both a strong academic foundation and the experience to make challenging concepts easier to understand.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students of diverse learning styles and abilities, helping them build confidence, improve their grades, and develop a genuine understanding of science. I believe every student is capable of success when they receive the right support, encouragement, and instruction.
My love for science extends beyond the classroom. I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially at the beach, where I love exploring nature and photographing wildlife and coastal landscapes. Photography has taught me to slow down, observe details, and appreciate the incredible diversity of the natural world—qualities I bring into my teaching to make science engaging and relevant. When I'm not teaching or exploring outdoors, I enjoy spending time with my family.

My approach to tutoring is centered on helping students build confidence while developing a deep understanding of scientific concepts rather than simply memorizing facts. Every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to meet their individual learning style, pace, and academic goals.
A typical lesson begins by identifying what the student already understands and where they are struggling. From there, I provide clear explanations using real-world examples, visuals, diagrams, and guided practice. I encourage students to ask questions throughout the lesson and check for understanding frequently. We finish each session by reviewing key concepts, practicing application-based questions, and creating a plan for continued success.
With eight years of classroom teaching experience and a Master's degree in Biology, I understand both the content and the challenges students face in today's science courses. I have extensive experience preparing students for tests, quizzes, and state assessments while also helping them develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students become confident, independent learners.
I offer tutoring for middle school, high school, and introductory college-level science courses, including Biology, Earth Science, Environmental Science, and other general science subjects. Whether a student needs ongoing academic support, help preparing for an exam, assistance with homework, or enrichment beyond the classroom, I create engaging lessons designed to help them achieve their goals.
