About Yuqing
I am currently a high school senior at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. I have several years of tutoring experience, both public teaching (workshop facilitator at the Museum of Science and Industry) and private tutoring (at Strive Tutoring and Peer2Peer STEM). I enjoy communicating with and helping students improve their test scores, grades, or understanding of a subject. I'd like to consider myself fun to work with and flexible. I am a National Merit Scholarship Finalist and I received a 36 on the ACT as well as a 1540 on the SAT. I scored a 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam and high scores on the AP Comper Science, SAT Chemistry, and SAT Math II exams as well. I'd love to work with you!
I love working with other people, whether it be elementary or high school students. I enjoy relating to and forming friendships with the people I work with- I know what it's like to struggle academically, and I also know how to overcome those hardships and perform well at school. The best part about tutoring is seeing my students improve and become more confident and interested in the subject.

To get to know who the student is first, I usually like to have a conversation- it can be academic, but it doesn't have to be. I'd like to know about their hobbies and learning style. Then, we discuss what they're struggling with and what I can do to help. For test preparation especially, I would like the student to finish a practice test.
