About Marissa
My passion is helping people. Not only for tutoring purposes but in life in general. I like to come up with creative and unique ways students can learn and retain information. I’ve been working with children from various ages since 2015 in the Rockford area. I enjoy watching students evolve and achieve their goals.
It’s rewarding. It’s a fun job but also can be difficult at times, but the best feeling in the world when success is a result!
I started tutoring when I noticed my little cousin was way behind on learning. He was going into the 1st grade and did not know his full ABC’s, did not know many sight words, and when it was hard for him to put together full sentences. I wanted to help him succeed and help make learning a little easier for him.
I graduated high school in 2013 with a high school diploma.
I recieved my associate’s degree in criminal justice in 2017.
I am currently working on my bachelors degree majoring in criminal justice with a minor in psychology.

I typically like to meet with the new student first get to know them. Asking various question on how they feel like they learn best, what their strong suits and weaknesses.
I have worked with students from 1st grade to 12th grade.
Look for someone who is more then just a teacher, find someone who can relate to your struggles and is willing to make you a better student.
