About Jacob
Have you ever wanted to improve your singing and acting skills with the guidance of a working professional? Well now's your chance! Jacob Garwood will help you develop your acting process, catering technique and focus to the individual. I have been performing my entire life! I earned my BFA in Musical Theatre at the University of Miami where I studied voice, acting, musical theatre performance, and directing. Since graduating I have worked as an actor in a number of professional shows from concerts to plays, contemporary to classical. I have also directed a number of virtual plays durring the quarantine such as The Last Days of Judas Iscariot and The Importance of Being Earnest, which can be found on youtube on The Resilience Theatre Group channel!

At a first lesson I like to begin by warming up the student, and watching them perform their chosen piece in order to assess their current skill level and areas for improvement. From there I like to discuss what I saw and how best to match my assessed needs to the student's chosen goals, both long and short term. From there we work together to build an individualized lesson sechedule and begin working towards our first short term goal by using song, monologue, and/or scene work as a means to help the student find and build their own personlized process!

Jacob is a phenomenal voice coach! He really gets to know his students and works with them at whatever level they're at. From voice lessons, to acting technique and everything in between.
