About

I am Guthrie Mason, your premier choice for athletic training in Southern Middle Tennessee. With over 17 years of coaching experience and specialized programs in basketball, baseball, golf, softball, and table tennis , I provide expert coaching for athletes of all ages and skill levels.

Watching young athletes grow as both players and individuals is the greatest success in my mind. However, I often see the frustration of players and parents who attend lesson after lesson and never break free from bad habits or witness true growth. Simply attending lessons is not a guarantee of greatness. True improvement requires commitment — both from the athlete to put in the necessary work and from the instructor to provide visible, consistent results. I believe instructors should be held accountable for helping their athletes progress, not just keeping them busy.

My coaching methods are designed to ensure learning remains exciting by focusing on measurable results. While I expect my players to mirror my dedication, desire to improve, and passion for the game, I also believe the joy of playing should never be lost. After all, that’s why we fell in love with sports in the first place.

To fast-track growth, I assign 20 minutes of focused homework each day between lessons. This consistent practice reinforces what we cover during our sessions, helping players build confidence and see progress that is consistent and quick. I challenge my athletes to give their best, but I do so with supportive, engaging methods that keep the process enjoyable and rewarding.

“Players who question their playing time should first question their practice time". A players job is to play so hard that the coach can’t take them out of the game.

If you’re ready to refine your technique, build new skills, and take your game to the next level, join me Guthrie Mason. Let’s work together to achieve your athletic goals!
