About Donn

I have coached girls basketball for over 20 years. Starting with my daughter in the mid 1990s. I have coached Junior high and high school. A head coach in Ohio for 12 seasons, the past four years at Shadow Mountain High School. In 2019 we won the Arizona 4A state title.

I enjoy working with players to help develop their skills on the court AND to teach how to handle the roller coaster of the emotional side of our game. A players Emotional Quotient (EQ) is as critical as her IQ, her ability to handle, shoot and see the floor. I have a passion for teaching the skills on the court and equal passion for teaching how to handle the mental battle basketball wages on the mind.

I started coaching in the mid 1990s for my daughters rec team. I have coached since then. She is now 38, mom of my two grandsons ages 2 and 4.

My profession is as a documentarian and video reporter. However, my vocation is coaching girls or women's basketball. I have been a Varsity head coach, worked for a small Division III college in Ohio and am now the lead assistant, my title is Game Plan Coordinator, for the 2019 State Champion Shadow Mountain High School girls.
