About Thomas
I'm a biology, chemistry, and physics teacher who will begin teaching in the fall. I really enjoy researching about the most current science of today and reading all about it. Since I am just coming out of school, I know what it's like to be a student. I'm sure we'll now only see valuable learning together, but my hope is that in the process you will develop a strong understanding and possibly even a love for science too!
Asking questions is a powerful trait that cannot be taught. Finding answers to questions goes beyond. Science does both and teaches us about the nature of Reality. Being a science teacher means sharing such knowledge with others. Being an inquiry-based science teacher means that instead of giving knowledge to the students, I get to bring the students to the facts that they may discover for themselves! That is what I am all about.
I am currently a pre-srudent teacher with many hours of study in scientific research including many hours of my own personal study and non-credit science classes that I have taken for fun in the summers. Science plays a huge role in my life, but my burden goes out to others. I love science so much, but I also love students and feel that it is my duty to adopt them into this wonderful world that they may see the beauty and utility that science has for us.

I like to walk alongside students as someone who is also seeking to understand science more fully. I enjoy integrating examples and mnemonics to help students to learn how to think about science and not simply what to think about science. I enjoy drawing out pictures, asking questions, and relating simpler ideas to the whole of science so that each part can be understood as integral in the process.
I started tutoring high schoolers as a high school student. I now have tutored high schoolers, elementary students, and college students. I have tutored those that need lots of help and those that are excelling and just want more!

Details
Pricing needs to be fair and agreed upon by both parties. My pricing would depend upon what services are actually required. I've done tutoring where I had to create syllabi, lessons, and activities from scratch; that requires more time and therefore more pay. If we are just looking to go over some papers together or prepare for a test, that would probably be a lot less pay. We can negotiate.
