I have worked with a number of students with backgrounds in business and social sciences. The way material is presented in Math & CS classes is often toward students from quantitative backgrounds, and so I try ways to make the material more relatable and intuitive for students from other backgrounds.
I see a lot of value in hiring another student because it means you are thinking on the same wave length. They will find it easier to relate and will be easier to communicate with.
