About Ryan
The way each person learns is just as unique as we are as people. This thought has driven my passion and want for teaching, especially in my expertise of the arts. My overall itinerary is very flexible with each student. I assess each of their needs and skills to hone in on what they need to improve. Each student has their own passions and I as a teacher should highlight these and show my students the avenues to build upon.
My main passion is conceptual illustration/painting, But I also teach Line, Shape, Form, Value, Balance, Unity, Composition, Color, Texture, and Perspective. All of the essentials of the visual arts. On top of teaching the arts I work as a freelance artist for a wide variety of clients.
I have studied Illustration/Design for 10+ years and have a bachelor's degree in Illustration from Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, MI. I also received an associate's degree in Illustration at Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
