About Jake
I'm not a "natural" at anything, but have worked & practiced many hours to hone my skills. That dedication has led me to many teachers, looking for many different viewpoints & interpretations. That journey has made it possible for me to break things down into simpler tasks, thus helping my students build their confidence through small successes from the beginning. I found martial arts over 30 years ago as a result of being bullied myself through grade school & middle school. I found the confidence & ability to stand up to those bullies & fight back (if needed). If that's what you want for yourself or your child, I'm probably the right instructor for you.
We help build confidence through learning actual skills to help prevent, escape or control physical confrontations.
30+ years in martial arts. Have taught across the US. Also, have been a teacher at Middle School, High School, and College levels.
