About Izzy
I have been working as a one-on-one private math and chemistry tutor for three years, tutored 10+ students in math, chemistry, and test prep. Currently a Northwestern student majoring in Chemical Engineering, I am familiar with the high school/college math and chemistry curriculum. In addition, I was the US National Chemistry Olympiad Local Section winner in ‘20 and the Chicago ARML B team contestant in ‘21. I was also a student tutor at my high school’s tutoring center, helping over 50 students in STEM areas for homework help and test prep.

I offer a free 30-minute consultation when meeting a new student. During the consultation, we talk about their past experience with mathematics/chemistry, learn about the student’s learning style, and set goals together. After identifying my student’s strengths and weaknesses, I customize a unique teaching strategy for each of my students and effectively tackle various challenges with my students.
I have worked with students youngest in 2nd grade and oldest in 11th grade. I’ve also worked with students with transitional backgrounds in the past and can provide tutoring in Mandarin as well.
