About Kira
I have been amateurly tutoring for close to 10 years now and would like to start doing it professionally. I am a college freshman and biology major who has taken math up to honors pre calculus. Once I have my degree, I'd like to use it to be a professor because I am really good at explaining difficult concepts in a way that is easy to understand.
I am a big sister and I grew up helping my brother with his homework. One of my teachers realized I was really good at it and I became an after school tutor at that teachers recommendation.
I graduated high school in 2019 and have years of tutoring as my training.

I let them explain to me what class they are taking, what they are learning about, and what they have trouble with. I find it is easier for both me and the student if they are in charge of what they are learning
I've worked with elementary school age to college age kids
Not every tutor is perfect for every student and that's okay. Someone can be the best tutor and you can still have trouble understanding them. You have to find the person you fit best with.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I know sometimes it is hard to put your finger on what you don't understand. It can be helpful to tell your tutor what you do understand and have them fill in the blanks. It can also be helpful to know how you learn. I'm a very auditory learner, I learn best when someone explains things with words. Other people need pictures to understand. It's okay to ask for those things.

Kiki is very good at breaking information down to an understandable level. She is very kind and patient with slow learners.
In middle school I always struggled with math and that’s just how I thought it would always be, so I didn’t ever care to do something about it. Until Kiki came along and showed me that math can be interesting and that I don’t have to just accept that I’m not good at it. She made me study everyday even when I didn’t want to. She got me passing with her persistent tutoring skills and kind help anytime I needed it.
She’s very patient and easy to understand.
