About Jakub

Hello!

My name is Jakub, I am 22 years old, and I have been tutoring for the past 7 years. I am knowledgeable in most subjects taught in school, but the subjects i specialize in are foreign language, music, history, writing, math, and science.

I was an Astrophysics major at Florida State.

My process with tutoring involves getting to know the students specific learning needs before I try to dive into the subject matter, because every single student I've been successful with has been one who doesn't understand this for themselves and then don't know how to ask questions because they're uncomfortable.

I do my best to make the student comfortable and excited to learn.

My favorite part about this job is the joy of a young person who gets a good grade on a test they never thought they would pass on.

My mother is a teacher and she inspired me to use my knack for learning to help other people.

I was an astrophysics major at FSU and have an AA degree.

About the lesson

I typically ask the student about which areas they struggle with most and work to tackle confusion about the subject matter.

All kinds! Some people like to get to know more about the subject area and want to go deep, others are just happy to get a passing grade.

Just because someone is knowledgeable about something doesn't mean they're good at explaining it!
