About Mary
The main aim of my lessons is understanding. By any means I try to explain the material and show students how they can use it. I believe learning mathematics should be applicable to real life situations and that students should have measurable outcome, so they can be proud of their achievement.
I think that only an individual approach to each student gives the best result. So character, interests and hobbies of students are really important for me. I always use them for explaining the material.
I made many workshops and mathematical games which I use in my lessons. They are interesting and motivate students to learn Math.
I really love Math and love children. I am proud of myself because I have already helped many students with improving their grades and fostered their interest in Math. Seeing a child’s face lit up with joy when they achieve their goal is magical and I wish more people could experience that joy.
I believe that through my passion for teaching I can help students become passionate about learning and that ignites their inner curiosity and gives them confidence. I want to share my joy of teaching and be a part of a mathematical learning adventure with children.
I started teaching more than 5 years ago. My grandmother and mother are math teachers with 35 years of experience. And I decided to follow them. After the first lesson, I realized that I would be teaching all my life. I realized that I can explain the material by any means until the child understands it. To do this, I use his or her interests, hobbies and real life situations. I really love children and love to see how they are happy with their results.

I think that the first step before starting the lessons is getting to know the parent and the child and discussing the long-term goal of the lessons.
The next step is a close acquaintance with the student, a
discussion of his interests and hobby.
Next, I need to identify gaps in Math. Therefore, for the first lesson I usually prepare a diagnostic test in accordance with the school curriculum.
Based on the results, I draw up a program of lessons and then I discuss it with parents and the student. Periodically (most often once a month) I ask the student a new diagnostic test to show his progress and also I correct
the program of lessons if it is necessary.
Mathematics is a multi-faceted science that will allow everyone to take a
fresh look at everyday things. Mathematics does not have to be complicated,
it has to be understandable. Only then it bring not only benefit, but true
pleasure.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
First, the student should think about the purpose of the classes (passing the exam, improving academic performance).
Next, student should analyze his or her knowledge gaps. In this situation I advise students to be honest. To understand why I compare the profession of a tutor with a therapist. When we come to the therapist we honestly answer the questions so that she or he could help us. The result of the lessons with a tutor will also be better if the student tells about his or her gaps and topics in which the student is not sure.
