About Marina
My name is Marina Elia, and I’m a high school senior. I’ve taken advanced math classes for as long as I can remember and have extensive experience with children and teaching. I babysat for many years, volunteered at Powers Catholic High School for the National Honors Society and tutored my peers who were struggling with their classes. I was enrolled in Advcanced Geometry, Advanced Algebra II, Advaced Precalculus, AP Physics 1 Algebra Based, College Logic, and passed all with flying colors. My favorite subject in school has always been math, I have a burning passion for it. I’m a member of the National Honors Society at Powers Catholic High School and have volunteered to help struggling students for numerous hours. As one with babysitting experience of children of many ages, I can assure you that your child will be receiving the best mathematical care. I’m enrolled in many difficult high school and college math courses that, I believe, make me qualified for a math tutoring position.

If a new student is in middle school, I’d start by conversing with their parents and asking them about where they see their child struggling. I’d then ask the student where they believe they’re personally struggling. With that, I can get to know the student, formulate a personal lesson plan, and start working.
