About Haifa
I am a Columbia University graduate with a bachelor's in Mathematics and a passion for teaching young adults with patience and at a great pace.
I feel like a mentor and am given the opportunity to help students achieve their best and inspire them on a personal and academic level. I truly savour the moment when the concept just clicks and the student understands how to solve a whole set of problems!
My first official experience at teaching was being a peer tutor at Barnard College of Columbia University. I taught Calculus 1 and Calculus 2 and it was an incredibly rewarding experience to see my students improve and excel in their classes. I also was very fortunate and had a great set of math teachers during middle and high school to encourage me teach math in the afterschool programs.

We start a session with introductions and learn about the student's needs and expectations! I would like to know the topics a few days beforehand so I can prep a review, or we can go over homework problems based on what the student has learned in the classroom. I prefer to meet up at a public library for tutoring sessions! I can also use apps such as zoom or google meet to share my screen if I am solving a math problem or helping them do the same.

Details
My services typically range from $25-35 an hour, depending on the course being taught. Any college-level course will cost $35 an hour. I am open to negotiation, of course.
