About Coppens
During my studies and PhD years, I always loved making schematic overviews and explaining my work to others. I also passionately tutored other university students during my study years because I really want people to understand the material rather than only memorizing words. During my PhD, I continued mentoring university students as part of my job by creating master's thesis subjects and guiding them in their research, writing and presentations.

Having been a private tutor for university students for three years and a mentor for master's thesis students for four years, I easily adapt my explanations to different learning styles and backgrounds. When explaining code, I like to make schematic drawings, give easy examples, and let the student reason out loud to ensure full understanding of the material. Lessons can be 1-2 hours and can be done in person or online. I have a PhD in software engineering with most experience in Python and Java, but also confident in SQL, C and C++, and Excel. I am also experienced in tutoring mathematics and can do this for high school level as well.
