As a tutor, I believe that understanding comes from breaking down complex problems into simple, logical steps. My teaching method focuses on first identifying where a student is struggling and then building a strong foundation through clear explanations and targeted practice. A typical lesson starts with a quick review of previous topics to ensure retention, followed by teaching a new concept with step-by-step examples. I then guide students through practice problems, gradually increasing their independence until they feel confident solving similar questions on their own. At the end of each lesson, we summarize key points and create a short plan for what to focus on next. What sets me apart as a tutor is my patience and ability to explain difficult math concepts in multiple ways until it clicks. As a UCLA Pre-Business Economics student who has recently taken advanced math courses, I understand how to relate topics to real-life applications and exams in a way that keeps students engaged.
