My aim is to inspire my pupils to enjoy making music as much as me! I am happy to tailor lessons to suit the needs of the individual, whether this be completing exam syllabuses, or simply playing for fun. I have a fun and friendly approach to teaching, and will aim to build up the confidence of my students in their music making, by creating a structured learning environment, in which they can see the progress they are making.
I am currently in my final year at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, studying the violin and viola. I have been playing the violin since the age of 6, and before I joined Guildhall, I studied at the Purcell School of Music on a full scholarship, and attended the Junior Department of the Royal Academy of Music.
I have experience teaching the violin and viola privately, with a mixture of ages and abilities, ranging from beginners to adult learners, and over the last year I have also been teaching over zoom. Outreach work has played a big role in my studies, and as a member of IMPULSE at Purcell, and the Commonwealth Resounds I have led musical workshops for children across the UK, and internationally.
Annie-May is a fantastic musician and teacher who is hard working, supportive and always goes above and beyond for her students. Anybody learning from her can expect well organised lessons tailored to the student and an excellent learning environment.
I could not recommend her enough to those wanting to learn the Violin or Viola no matter their age or ability.
