About Lawrence
I am a dedicated flute teacher with over 12 years of tutoring experience. I teach school students, college students, and working professionals who want to learn flute in a supportive and motivating environment. My lessons are designed to help students achieve steady progress while enjoying music.
My teaching style combines communication, creativity, motivation, and personalized guidance. I carefully understand each student’s strengths and challenges before planning lessons. This helps students learn comfortably and build confidence at their own pace.
Besides flute, I teach music theory, rhythm training, ear training, breathing exercises, beginner keyboard, sight reading, performance skills, and music appreciation. These subjects help students gain a deeper understanding of music.
I focus on posture, breathing control, finger movement, rhythm, tone quality, and expressive performance. I also provide practice strategies and regular feedback that encourage continuous improvement. My aim is to help students become confident musicians who enjoy learning for life.

My teaching methodology focuses on helping students build a strong musical foundation while making flute lessons enjoyable and meaningful. Communication, Accountability, and Integrity guide every lesson, helping students develop confidence, discipline, and a genuine interest in music.
Students begin by learning correct breathing, posture, embouchure, finger coordination, and tone production. As they improve, I introduce rhythm exercises, scales, notation reading, articulation, phrasing, dynamics, and performance skills. Lessons include practical activities that help students apply techniques in real musical situations.
Communication enables me to understand each student's strengths and provide clear explanations with practical demonstrations. Accountability encourages regular practice, personal responsibility, and steady progress toward achievable goals. Integrity allows me to teach with honesty, patience, fairness, and respect while creating a supportive learning atmosphere.
Besides flute, I also teach Music Theory, Sight Reading, Ear Training, Staff Notation, Rhythm Practice, Breath Management, Instrument Care, Music Appreciation, Performance Preparation, and Practice Planning. These complementary subjects help students become confident, knowledgeable, and well-rounded musicians.
My aim is to help students develop excellent flute-playing skills, enjoy the learning process, and build a lifelong appreciation for music.
