About Syed
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Economics & Maths from the University of Liverpool. I have supported first-year cohorts as a Peer-Assisted Learning (PAL) Leader, facilitating problem-solving sessions in Calculus I & II, Linear Algebra, Statistics with R, Mathematical IT Skills, and Introduction to Finance. As a private tutor, I teach GCSE/IGCSE, A-level/AS and Further Maths, plus first-year university Mathematics, Probability & Statistics, Economics and Econometrics.
My teaching is friendly, calm, structured and exam-focused - clear methods, worked examples and past-paper practice, with concise progress notes available for parents. I bring a practical lens from my quantitative background and entrepreneurial projects, using simple data and real-world examples to make ideas stick. Frankly, I like to teach my students the way I would have taught myself :).
Outside lessons, I train for endurance runs, follow Formula 1 strategy, and tinker with tidy spreadsheets over coffee and a good book :) – the same curiosity and discipline have shaped my classroom approach.
Teaching experience Peer-assisted learning leader – facilitated weekly support for twenty-one first-year students across Calculus, Linear Algebra, Statistics with R and Finance.
