About Axel
I am a passionate Saxophone tutor with 19+ years of teaching experience and have successfully taught around 150 students at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. I enjoy working with students of different ages and backgrounds, helping them build confidence and musical skill through structured and engaging lessons.
My teaching approach is flexible and student-focused. I adapt lessons based on each student’s learning style, goals, and pace. I believe that clear explanations, regular practice, and positive encouragement are essential for steady progress.
Lessons focus on developing strong saxophone fundamentals such as breathing techniques, embouchure control, tone production, finger coordination, and rhythm accuracy. As students progress, I introduce musical expression, articulation, phrasing, and basic improvisation skills.
Along with saxophone instruction, I also teach music theory, sight-reading, and ear training to support complete musicianship. My goal is to help students enjoy learning the saxophone while developing skills that support long-term musical growth.

My Saxophone teaching approach focuses on building strong fundamentals and musical expression through Communication, Accountability, and Integrity. I begin with breath support exercises and tone-building techniques to develop a rich and controlled sound.
I teach scales, rhythm studies, articulation, and finger coordination step-by-step. Clear communication helps students understand both technical and musical aspects of playing. I assign structured practice routines and monitor improvement carefully. Accountability builds discipline and confidence in students.
With integrity, I ensure that students develop correct habits from the beginning. I also support students with Music Theory lessons, Jazz improvisation basics, Ear Training, and Performance preparation so they can perform confidently in solo and group settings.
