About Makungu
Hello, my name is Makungu Silaule, and I am a final-year MSc Medical Physics student at the University of the Witwatersrand. I have a strong academic background in Physics and Mathematics, supported by both tutoring and laboratory teaching experience at university level.
I am a dedicated, patient, and professional tutor who is committed to helping students understand difficult concepts with clarity and confidence. My approach is structured, supportive, and focused on achieving real academic improvement. I take pride in being reliable, well-prepared, and attentive to each student’s individual learning needs.

I take a student-centred approach to tutoring, focusing on building strong conceptual understanding before moving to problem-solving and exam techniques. My teaching combines clear explanations, step-by-step guidance, and real-world examples, especially in Physics and Mathematics, to make complex ideas easier to understand. What makes me unique is my background in Medical Physics, which allows me to connect theory with practical and analytical applications.
I am proficient in English and can also assist students who are comfortable with Xitsonga, Zulu, or Tswana when clarification is needed.
In a typical lesson, I assess the student’s current understanding, identify problem areas, and tailor explanations accordingly. Lessons include worked examples, practice questions, and continuous feedback to build confidence and improve performance.
My lessons are aimed at high school and undergraduate students, particularly those studying Physics and Mathematics, as well as students who need help with assignments, exam preparation, or improving their overall academic performance.
