About Luay
I'm a final-year MEng Electronic and Electrical Engineering student at UCL, on track for a First-Class degree. Maths and physics have been the foundation of everything I've studied — from circuit design and control systems to the reinforcement-learning project I built for my final year — so I teach them not as abstract subjects but as tools I genuinely use.
I started tutoring because I remember how much difference one patient explanation could make when a topic finally clicked. I'm calm, methodical, and good at meeting students where they are rather than where a textbook assumes they should be. My aim is simple: to help you understand the why behind the maths, build real confidence, and walk into your exams knowing you can handle whatever comes up.
I take the responsibility seriously, I'm reliable with timekeeping and preparation, and I'll always be honest about where you stand and what we need to work on to get you to your target grade.

I'm a final-year MEng Electronic and Electrical Engineering student at UCL (predicted First-Class), and I tutor Maths and Physics for GCSE and A-Level students across London. Engineering is essentially applied maths and physics, so I've spent years using these subjects in practice — which means I can explain not just how to solve a problem, but why the method works and where it actually gets used.
My lessons are structured but flexible. In a first session I'll get a sense of where you are, which topics feel shaky, and what you're working towards — whether that's a specific grade, an upcoming exam, or just rebuilding confidence. From there I build sessions around past-paper questions and exam technique, because knowing the content and knowing how to score marks are two different skills, and most students lose marks on the second one.
I work patiently and without judgement. I was an introverted student myself, so I understand that asking "obvious" questions can feel awkward — in my lessons there's no such thing. I'll happily go back to basics on a topic as many times as it takes for it to genuinely click.
I cover all major exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR) and can teach in person around West London or online. Feel free to message me with your year group, subject, and what you'd like to focus on, and we'll take it from there.
