About Otis
I am a dedicated flute tutor who believes every student can develop skill, confidence, and creativity. My teaching combines mentorship, critical thinking, and accountability to guide students effectively. I focus on tone, phrasing, rhythm, and breath control while nurturing expressive musicality. Lessons also include music theory, sight-reading, and listening exercises for well-rounded musicianship. Creativity is central to my teaching, with improvisation, composition, and musical exploration included in every session. I encourage students to set goals, stay disciplined, and track their progress. Mistakes are treated as opportunities for growth and learning. I adapt lessons to each student’s pace, skill level, and interests to keep them engaged. I act as a mentor, providing guidance, motivation, and constructive feedback. My lessons emphasize reflection, problem-solving, and independent thinking. I aim to build confidence, curiosity, and self-expression in all students. I also teach related subjects such as theory, performance preparation, and rhythm. I create a positive and supportive environment where students feel encouraged. I emphasize enjoyment alongside skill development. My ultimate goal is to help students become expressive, confident, and lifelong learners of music.

I teach the flute with creativity, care, and focus on growth. My lessons are designed to make learning both fun and meaningful. I believe that every student learns best when they are curious and supported. As a mentor, I guide students to think deeply about music and discover their own expression.
