About Dhyan
I am a former Bancroft’s School pupil and currently study at Newham Collegiate Sixth Form. I recently completed my GCSEs, achieving Grade 9s in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
I have always particularly enjoyed Maths and the Sciences, and I want to use what I have learned to help younger students become more confident in these subjects. Having completed my GCSEs very recently, I understand the challenges students face, from difficult topics and revision to exam pressure and learning how to approach unfamiliar questions.
I am patient, friendly and approachable, and I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I enjoy breaking complicated ideas down into simpler steps and helping students reach the point where they can confidently solve problems by themselves.
I hope to help KS3 students strengthen their foundations, improve their school performance and eventually approach their GCSEs with much greater confidence.

I offer Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics lessons primarily for KS3 students who want to improve their understanding, confidence and school performance.
My lessons are usually around one hour and are adapted to each student. I start by identifying the topics they are struggling with, explain the concepts clearly using simple examples, and then work through questions together before allowing the student to try similar questions independently.
I believe that understanding a topic is much more effective than simply memorising information, so I focus on helping students understand why methods and scientific concepts work. I also use practice questions, mini quizzes and regular recap to make sure previous topics are not forgotten.
Having recently completed my GCSEs with Grade 9s in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, I am very familiar with the knowledge and skills students need to develop as they progress towards GCSE level. As a recent secondary school student myself, I can also relate well to younger students and explain topics in a way that is clear, patient and approachable.
My lessons are suitable for KS3 students of different abilities, whether they need help catching up, want support with homework and school topics, or would like to work ahead and prepare for GCSE-level study.
