About Leesa
I attended Santa Monica Community College where I earned a A.A. degree and then transferred to California State University, Northridge. At CSUN, I earned a B.S. in classical applied mathematics. After that I decided to pursue my interest in education and completed a single subject (math) teaching credential program. After some classroom experience, I returned to CSUN's education department and earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. After 5 years of classroom experience with middle/high school students I decided that the best way for me to facilitate learning is in a small group setting and doing one-on-one lessons to meet students' individual needs. This is exactly what I've been doing since 2018.

I love learning and teaching. I see math as a beautiful language that is accessible to everybody. This is why I chose to teach math. I also want to have a positive impact on the lives of all youths. When students use logic and critical thinking and engage in problem solving I see their self-esteem improve and their understanding of the world around them grow. This opens up a world of opportunities for them. This is why I love teaching and tutoring math.
