About Vinnie

Hello Future Student! I’m Vinnie, a professional musician, educator, and all-around creative enthusiast who lives and breathes music, creativity, and education. With over 20 years of teaching experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with students from all walks of life and ages, helping them connect with music in meaningful ways. As an artist (STERGIN), I was honoured with the prestigious ‘Do It Differently Award’ from Help Musicians UK, and my projects have received support from Arts Council England. My commissions include creating a piece for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and other exciting multimedia projects. BBC6 Music's Dave Gilyeat says "One of the most inventive musicians". I perform with my band, Shiny Brain Crayons, and have been lead creative at InHouse Records, a social enterprise empowering young offenders through music. I hold a BA in Music Education (Mozarteum Salzburg) and an MA in Music Composition (Trinity College of Music, London).

About the lesson

What makes my lessons unique? Most of my current piano students are beginner children and I really enjoy opening up the world of music for young learners. It's very rewarding and I learn so much every week by doing that, for that I'm grateful. I’ve also developed the Mindful Teaching Method, a one-of-a-kind approach that combines meditation with music lessons (I teach this way mainly with my adult/young adult students not so much with children). This method helps you: - Build confidence and overcome creative blocks. - Foster a deeper connection with yourself, your instrument and music. - Learn in a calm, fun, and supportive environment. We start our session with a short meditation and then explore music! What can we work on (very often we end up doing all!)? Piano Playing (classical, rock, pop) Songwriting Music Production Singing Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your craft, my lessons are tailored to your goals and learning style. Together, we’ll celebrate your progress and bring out your unique musical voice. Let’s create something amazing together! Reach out to book a lesson or ask any questions—I can’t wait to meet you and start this musical journey. Best, Vinnie

My daughter has been learning piano with Vinnie for a number of years now and is getting along great. She is steadily improving and enjoys going to her lessons every week. Vinnie is fun, approachable, knowledgeable and encouraging. He adapts lessons and learning to suit the individual, which is particularly apparent during the wonderful student showcases he organises. These are a lovely way for his students to experience performing to others but in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

We would highly recommend Vinnie as a music teacher!

I've been having lessons with Vinnie for a few years now, having received a batch from my wife for a birthday.
Not only is Vinnie a wonderful musician, he's a superb teacher. He is patient yet meticulous and has plenty of strategies to put you at ease and get the best out of your playing,
On top of learning huge amounts from him, we also laugh a lot. Lessons are never boring and I never feel any pressure.
I would recommend Vinnie - and have done - without hesitation.
