About Amanda
I am a fourth grade elementary school teacher with experience teaching in grades 4-6 regular education and special education. I have twelve years of teaching experience with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education K-8 and Special Education K-12, an additional certification in Learning Disabilities, and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

I believe that all students are capable of learning and being successful in all subject areas. With 10 years of experience in special education at both the elementary and middle school levels, I have found that utilizing different strategies and teaching methods to support the unique learning styles of each individual student is necessary to ensure success. Hands-on teaching strategies in both individual and small group settings, applying the use of technology-based programs and supports, provide engaging and effective lessons that help students learn and grow in all academic areas. I believe it takes practice, patience, hard work, and connections with our students to build an environment and culture of positivity and success no matter how challenging the subject area may be. Academic progress and growth is achievable and guaranteed by all students I instruct and support.
