About Tess

I'm a friendly and enthusiastic person who loves learning about science and understanding how the human body works. Studying medicine has strengthened my passion for Biology and shown me just how fascinating the subject can be!

I also have a real passion for teaching, which I've enjoyed doing throughout school and university. I'm approachable, organised and motivated, and I love helping others develop their understanding and confidence. I hope to share my enthusiasm for Biology with my students and help them feel proud of their progress!

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on making Biology clear, engaging and enjoyable! I break down tricky topics into simple explanations, use real-life examples and practise exam-style questions to help students build confidence and develop strong exam technique.

Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are tailored to each student's needs, whether they want to strengthen their understanding, tackle difficult topics or prepare for exams.

I am a fourth-year medical student at the University of Birmingham, with A grades in A-level Biology, Chemistry and Maths. Through helping deliver teaching sessions at university, I have developed experience explaining concepts and supporting learners.

My lessons are aimed at GCSE Biology students of all abilities, from those looking to improve their understanding to those aiming for the highest grades. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and can reach their full potential!
