About Eelan
Hi! I'm Eelan and I've just graduated from UCL with a BSc in Experimental Linguistics. I have a strong passion for the sciences and languages and have been tutoring these for five years now. I love helping students to understand these subjects and hopefully become passionate about them too! During the day I lead seminars at secondary schools helping students to study effectively, manage their time and giving them useful revision and exam-preparation hacks. I find this really rewarding and it means I've got tons of good tips for you too! I studied Biology, Chemistry and Latin at A-level (also Maths at AS) and so I was in your position not too long ago! I also have lots of experience tutoring KS3, GCSE and A-level students and helping them ace their exams. I would love to be able to pass on my knowledge and help you too :) I love my degree because it combines both my passions, looking at languages in a more scientific, analytical way and seeing how they affect our day-to-day lives. As a result I've continued to use skills and knowledge I gained from my years at school in my university studies. In my spare time, I really enjoy music and like to sing :)

I know what it's like to struggle for years with a particular subject or topic. It can be really frustrating and overwhelming but don't worry, whatever you need I'm here to help! Of course the way each student learns is different, so I'll make sure lessons are suited to you by spending more time on different areas and in different ways to make sure you really understand what you're learning. I also work presenting seminars on study skills and revision techniques so I've got you covered here! Generally, in our sessions, we will firstly go over any content you find difficult or are unsure about. After this we will go through lots of practice questions until you have consolidated your knowledge of the topic. I know questions can be tough, but that's why I'm here! By going through practice questions together, you'll get an idea of how to approach them in exams whilst gaining an insight into what the examiner is looking for in your answers. I'll then give you useful pointers and advice on how you can improve and ultimately make best use of your study time! The main thing I need you to do is tell me when you don't get something, because that's fine and it's going to happen. But what we'll do is work through these areas together and I'll use what I did in Years 11-13 to help you get what your teachers are saying.
