About Thomas
I have mentored a law student into successfully receiving a training contract from a solicitor firm; I have also mentored several members of friends and family in passing school mathematics exams and high stress aptitude tests.
As stated above I am very qualified to teach mathematics and was very successful in applying to medicine on my first attempt. I believe what edges me over other tutors is that I'm very relaxed and friendly in my teaching approach. I want it to feel like we are working together as a team in order for you to achieve the success you deserve!

Hey! I'm a trainee doctor from the University of Manchester - passionate about helping students achieve their own version of success. I am well qualified to teach maths, with maximum grades in GCSE, AS and A Level mathematics and further maths, including perfect scores in multiple exams. I have won two school awards for mathematics, and my part time jobs in restaurant work have given me good communication skills and a LOT of patience!
My method for tuition is simple - I will push you along as far as possible during our hour together. You can let me know the topic in advance and I will prepare a lesson for us to go through. If you want to read up beforehand, then that's excellent and will help us make the most of our time, but if you don’t know where to begin, don’t panic! I am equally happy to teach from the beginning and work up. Regardless, at the end of the hour you will know more than at the start, and you get to choose the level from which we begin.
Lessons will be between one and two hours, and will involve teaching, worked examples, assessment and analysis, and then summarising what we have covered followed by a plan for next time.
I am able to teach students from year 7 through to year 13, and I am also happy to tutor any aspiring medical students in an application to medical school, including advice on choosing which schools are right for you, the hurdles to get past, common pitfalls in applying and detailed knowledge on the personal statement, aptitude tests and most importantly, the medical interviews (I received three medical school offers during my first time applying to Medicine).
