About Alexandru

Hi, I’m Alex. As an engineering student and recipient of the Governor General’s Academic Medal, I know firsthand that mastering math and physics isn't about memorizing formulas but rather about training your brain to see the patterns behind them.

Having navigated rigorous academic paths like the International Baccalaureate (IB) and advanced college sciences, I understand exactly where students get stuck. My goal is to transform intimidating equations into intuitive, logical concepts, helping students build the confidence they need to excel independently.

My Teaching Methodology
I use a concept-first, highly interactive approach. I don't just lecture. Instead, I ask targeted questions that guide students to discover the answers themselves. My methodology relies on three core pillars:

• Building Intuition: We break complex problems down into visual or real-world analogies before touching the math.

• Targeted Diagnostics: I quickly identify whether a mistake stems from a foundational gap, a conceptual misunderstanding, or a simple calculation error.

• Structured Tracking: We focus on efficient problem-solving workflows, helping students learn how to organize their work logically—a skill that is crucial for exam day.

A Typical Lesson Plan (60 Minutes)
Every session is structured yet flexible enough to adapt to the student's immediate needs:

1. The Warm-Up & Review (10 mins): We review the previous week's material or address immediate questions from current school homework to ensure no gaps are left behind.

2. Concept Breakdown (15 mins): We tackle the core theory or a new topic using clear, simplified explanations and interactive visual examples.

3. Guided Practice (20 mins): We work through a series of increasing-difficulty problems together. I provide real-time feedback on technique, structure, and pacing.

4. Independent Mastery & Action Plan (15 mins): The student tackles a final problem solo to prove mastery. We wrap up by summarizing key takeaways and setting a clear roadmap for the upcoming week.

What Sets Me Apart
• Proven Academic Excellence: Graduating at the very top of my class with the Governor General's Medal means I have mastered the exact study habits, exam strategies, and time-management skills I teach. In high school, I graduated with a 97.5% average overall for sec. 4-5. I finished my DEC in sciences de la nature with a 37.4 R score.

• A Coach’s Patience: Beyond academic tutoring, my experience coaching sports has taught me how to keep lessons dynamic, encouraging, and tailored to different learning styles. I know how to motivate students when frustration sets in.

• Bilingual Adaptability: I am fully fluent in both English and French, meaning I can seamlessly adapt to the specific terminology of either curriculum.

Who These Lessons Are For
I specialize in math and physics tutoring for:
• High School Students (Secondary 1–5): Building strong foundations, overcoming math anxiety, and preparing for crucial final exams.

• CEGEP Students: Navigating advanced algebra, calculus, and physics courses (especially those in science or pre-engineering tracks).

• Ambitious Learners: Students looking to boost their academic averages to secure competitive university admissions or scholarships.
