About Shankar
I'm Shankar, a math tutor from India, and I help students in US Grades 6 through 9 become confident and independent problem-solvers.
With over 8 years of teaching experience, I've learned that students often don't struggle with math because they're not capable—they struggle because a difficult concept hasn't been explained in the right way. That's where I can help.
My teaching philosophy is simple: Math should not feel complicated or scary.

I help students in US Grades 6 through 9 become confident and independent problem-solvers.
If you're struggling with a difficult problem, I don't just show you the answer. I break it down into simple steps so you understand why the solution works.
One of my specialties is teaching smart math shortcuts and problem-solving techniques. These techniques can help students solve problems faster while still building a strong understanding of the concepts.
Whether your child needs help with fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, integers, algebra, equations, Trigonometry, geometry, or test preparation, I'll adapt the lesson to their level and learning needs.
