About Arash
Hi! My name is Arash, and I am a third-year Chemical Engineering student at the University of Toronto. Mathematics has always been one of my strongest subjects, driving me to achieve High Honors in high school and excel in the IB Diploma with a score of 39/45, including a perfect 7 in Mathematics. With over two years of tutoring experience, I recognize that every student learns differently, and I tailor my teaching to fit their unique needs. My goal is to simplify complex concepts, boost confidence, and help students develop strong problem-solving skills. I believe that understanding the why behind mathematical concepts is just as important as knowing how to solve problems. My approach focuses on building strong conceptual foundations while developing problem-solving skills through step-by-step explanations. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s learning pace, ensuring clarity and engagement.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
1. Understanding the Student’s Needs – We begin by identifying strengths, weaknesses, and goals.
2. Concept Explanation – I break down topics into simple, digestible steps with clear explanations and examples.
3. Guided Practice – We work through problems together, gradually increasing difficulty to build confidence.
4. Independent Problem-Solving – The student attempts problems on their own with my guidance as needed.
5. Review and Q&A – We recap key points, address any confusion, and set goals for the next session. I also provide additional practice problems for students to try at home
