About Marlena
I have a Master's degree in Transpersonal Psychology with a specialization in Creativity and Innovation. I achieved this milestone in early 2015 from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology - now Sofia University, Palo Alto, CA. I was also certified in Transpersonal Studies from the same school in 2014.
I obtained my Bachelor's (B.A.) in Philosophy combined with a minor in English Writing through the University of Colorado. During my Independent Study, I pursued Philosophical Counseling and created my own business from that study : Mars & Plato Guidance Services - now consolidated into Maieutic•Arts. In 2012, I was asked to speak on the topic of Philosophical Counseling at the Spring Symposium for the University of Colorado.
Teaching in various capacities and settings for nearly 15 years now - including both private tutoring as well as workshops/classes that I’ve designed - I consistently love to see those “ahas” of learning that happen along the way!

My specialties are in all things English (reading, writing, spelling, grammar, phonics, general literacy —> up to writing a thesis), psychology (Jungian-based), and creative expression. I have a Master’s in Transpersonal Psychology with a specialization in Creativity & Innovation, and I’ve worked with all ages - literally from infant/toddler to seniors. I offer a variety of tutoring options, and I approach lessons based on individual needs & learning styles. If you want to get really niche somehow, ask me how I work with dreams, astrology, and art!
